Cupcakes anyone?
So I have been practicing making cupcakes for Erin's birthday, because I have never made them in my life. I have made muffins, but it's not quite the same. The first attempt was Lemon Cream Cupcakes. They were actually very good, and they did rise above the cups so that they would be cute. I frosted them with whipped cream, which actually looked pretty, amazingly, but that was too weak for frosting. I decided cream cheese frosting would be best. I've said it before and I'll say it again... If there is cream cheese in it, I'm there!
Today I tried Vanilla Pudding Poppy Seed cupcakes. I thought the pudding would make them moist and delicious, but it was quite sticky and chewy instead. Plus they were completely flat. So that one is a no-go. I also tried to make buttercream frosting from scratch. After that, it was time to admit that store bought frosting in a can was going to have to do. My buttercream tasted like butter and sugar, not in a good way. Plus, it was a major pain. So, there you have it. I still have a couple recipes to try out and see if they are good. I am planning to make a carrot cake for Erin, but Aunt Ashlee thinks that's cruel and unusual. I think she will like it, though, because she likes pumpkin bread with no chocolate chips and no frosting. What do you think?

Come on, Spring!
Erin wants to go outside sooo bad! So today I let her go out for a few minutes, like ten, and her hands were so cold! She was freakin' excited to be out, though! The cats love it when we go outside with them, too.
She was so excited, she was drooling. Can you see it sparkling in the late afternoon sun?
She wasn't too sure about leaving the cement, she really wanted to get Wisp, though, who of course was teasing the poor baby. As soon as she took a step toward her, she bolted.

New clothes!
I love Old Navy Baby! I got the cutest new outfits for Erin there. Love the pockets! I bought her these jeans, two shirts, shoes and a sweater, and a red Valentine's Dress. When I put the dress on her, however, it followed the true Old Navy style and was cut waaayyy too low. I had to take it back. But then I got 3 more shirts! I love shopping for baby clothes!!

What the Crap
You know when you're driving down the road looking for a person to do your taxes, and you see someone dressed in a Lady Liberty costume and think "Oh, good, I actually happen to have all my tax records in the car all ready, and I am just dying to trust a company who advertises with poor street sign people with some of the most important documents in my life that will directly effect my future, I'll just turn the car into that parking lot right now!" That is totally what I thought when I saw the foam plastic-covered and giant "TAX TIME" sign-weilding person with headphones on, rocking out and dancing on the street today. Wouldn't you think the same?
