Picky Eater

For some reason, my pictures won't show up. They are really cute pictures of Erin making a huge mess eating cottage cheese with her fingers. Maybe someday you can see them. But not today. My computer and I are not getting along.

Anyway, lately the only thing Erin will really eat is cottage cheese. She won't eat the things she used to love, and I don't know what to do. I can't get her to eat any kind of veggies or fruit that she used to love. I even tried some unusual things such as kiwi and avacodo, and they were a no-go. The second anything but cottage cheese touches her tongue, she just spits it out. What do I do? Any advice?

Arg!

Okay, all of you who have ever worked in retail will probably have had a situation exactly like this, so you can understand my ranting an appreciate that ranting is something that needs to be done.

I work one and a half days a week. In the last month, meaning the last 4 saturdays, I have had the same conversation on the phone with the same mind-numbingly-stupid-woman:

Me: "Jimmy's flowers, how can I help you?"

MNSW: "How late are you open?"

Me: "Until 5:00"

MNSW: "And you're still there?"

Me: "Yes, it's only 3:30."

MNSW: "I just thought you would be gone by now. Do you have candles?"

Me: "We have all kinds of candles, are you looking for a certain kind?"

MNSW: "What do you mean, there's only one kind?"

Me: "Well, are you looking for scented?"

MNSW: " Well of course, there's no other kind, why would you want an unscented candle, that's what they're for! There's no such thing as an unscented candle!"

Me: "Well, actually we do have unscented ones."

MNSW: "Well, that's just silly. Yes, I want scented ones, otherwise I wouldn't buy them. "

Me: "Yes, we do have scented candles."

MNSW: "Well, are they the crappy kind that don't last long? How much are they, do you have many?"

Me: "They burn for a 65-85 hours, we do have a variety of scents, they're very high quality."

MNSW: "Okay, then."

Then this woman procedes to come in 10 minutes before 5:00 and just wander around the store looking at things. I know she has bought candles before, she knows where they are, yet she looks around the whole store and is there until, like, 5:30 just wandering, then finally asks "oh, are you closing, I'm sorry!" AAARRGG! She makes me absolutely insane! I am not kidding, I have had that same conversation with her on 3 of the last 4 saturdays. One time she even asked us to pay for her bus fare since we were closing and she didn't know it. after she had asked. She is just as stupid in person as she is over the phone, I can't even begin to tell you how freakin' MIND NUMBINGLY STUPID she is! AAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGGG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My Non-winning Arrangement

On Monday night, we had a flower arranging contest at work. I had been looking forward to this for about a month and a half. We have this new building at Jimmy's, and it is so awesome. We had an open house to tour the new facilities, with dinner and this design contest. We had Goodwood barbecue for dinnner, which is supposed to be sooo good, but I am not a huge fan of barbecue. We didn't really get a "tour" of the new building, and my arrangement did not win. I was bummed out. My own husband doesn't even like this arrangement! I like to think of myself as tough, but I was surprised at how sad I felt when no one liked it. Oh well.

computer genious

So...

I had these really cute pictures today, but I am a completely computer illiterate person. Apparently if you copy pictures from your camera using a usb, you have to paste them onto your computer before you delete them from your camera. So what I did was highlight the pictures, right click to copy, then deleted the pictures from the camera. Then I went to my picture folder in the computer and right clicked to paste, and the computer said these photos are no longer located on removable disk f: please confirm location and try again. Well, they were no longer in existence. So, you don't get any pictures today. Sorry. They were really cute.

My little Green Girl

Isn't this adorable? Erin got this cute green outfit for Christmas, and she got this way cute green coat while we were in Virginia, and they went together so well that I had to take some pictures. It's really hard to get the front view of her, though, because she always needs a prop to stand. I don't think that will be the case for very long, though! Don't you think she looks like a leprechaun?

It's hard to see, but that's the cat Fidget behind her, she is actually rolling all over him, and he just sits there. She's kindof on top of him in this picture. Of course I never leave them alone together, but he has never really bit her or anything, he's such a sweet cat. Here are some more pictures of Erin and Fidget.

Bath Spiked Hair!

I'm so excited that Erin's hair is long enough to actually bath spike it! It has taken quite a long time for me to get this picture. Don't you just love it! Also, I finally figured out how to write in between pictures on the blog! You're probably saying "duh, Karlee" but I didn't know 'til now! I'm on my way to blog expertise. Look Out!

This is one of Erin's favorite things to laugh at currently. She loves to shake things and listen to them make noise. She will wait for one of us to do it for her, though, 'cause we can make the noise louder and make it move more. It probably will eventually destroy something, but it's just so dang cute! Maybe someday I'll figure out how to get a video on here and you can see just how cute it really is!

Another one of Erin's favorite pasttimes is to take things out of their recepticles. She gets mad if you put them back in, too. This is a laundry basket full of all the clothes that don't fit her anymore, waiting to be put in boxes. I actually almost cried at how big she is now, her newborn pjs are so teeny! She's growing so fast! This is probably the last thing you would call me, but call me a sentimental fool!

owies

Look at this bruise on my poor baby's head! I know it is just one of many, and I should get used to it, but it's so sad!! This is a very black bruise and it appeared instantly when Erin fell and hit a table. It was very sad. Luckily, she is very tough and doesn't cry a lot when she gets hurt. Hopefully that will continue as she gets older. This isn't her first bruise, though. That would be when I turned around for a second with her on the floor when she was about 3 months old and a big huge picture frame fell on her head. Just the corner got her, but it was so sad! Also, on like, her second day out of the womb, she mysteriously aquired these matching scrapes on the sides of her nose. We still don't know how they got there. Well, I guess I should steele myself for many millions of injuries to come.

On a more positive note, that will hopefully prevent some boo boos, Erin figured out how to go down the stairs by herself today! She just kindof slides backwards, so hopefully she will continue to do it slowly, or there is potential to hurt herself even more. So for about 15 minutes she went up about 5 stairs, then down again, up, down, up, down. It was kind of fun to watch! I am looking foreward to warmer weather so she can take some of this energy outside!

shredded cheese

The other day Erin was just so excited about eating dinner that I had to get some pictures. She had just spent the day at Gma's house, and I think Gma stuffed her full of sugar and sent her home to mom and dad. That's a grandma's job after all. Anyway, she was just so hyper and crazy! Here are the best of the pictures! Oh, plus some cheerio pictures, they're her favorite snack food!

Boogies!

While you read this post I would like you to get a song in your head. It's to the tune of "Woolie Booley" but it goes "Boogie Boogie". I have received several complaints (from Aunt Shlee) about the gross boogie picture. I wanted to tell you I don't always leave snot on my daughter's face. I found these boogie wipes at Walgreens, though they're probably everwhere, and they are fantastic! They dissolve boogies and snot like you wouldn't believe, they are soft so it doesn't hurt to wipe 3000 times a day, and they smell really good! If you have a snotty baby I recommend Boogie Wipes!

Teefers!

We finally started brushing Erin's teeth, thanks to a dream Aunt Jess had. She dreamed Erin's teeth were all rotted and falling out. Then Aunt Shlee was also complaining about our parents not teaching us good oral hygiene, so I decided that I better do that for Erin. Erin now has 4 teeth on top and 2 on bottom. They are very sharp. The first time we brushed her teeth she really loved it. Her toothbrush is a blue rubber finger glove with soft bristles, and it squeaks on her gums, which she loves. She had a blast biting my finger. Her toothpaste is apple-banana flavor, and she likes to eat it. I think it's too early to start flossing, though, Shlee, but as for brushing twice a day, we're on it.

What's good for the Gosling is good for the Goose

So we have been feeding Erin "Big People Food" since about the middle of December. Me and Erin went on a trip to Virginia to see my Sister in Law Jessica and her baby boy Ammon. Ammon has refused to eat baby food for a while and passed that on to Erin during the trip. She now just will not eat baby food. Not even rice cereal. So we feed her things like cheerios, bread, bananas, apple sauce (which she will eat, even though it is exactly like baby food). We're trying to get a variety of food for her, and make it good for her too. I was hoping that since we bought healthy food for her, that maybe we would start eating better, too. Yesterday for lunch I gave her whole wheat pasta, broccoli and cauliflower, and cottage cheese. I swear she ate a half cup of pasta, then about 6 peices of broccoli and cauliflower, and almost 1/3 cup of cottage cheese, then I only made her 6 oz of formula, thinking she'd be full. She drank that and cried for more when it was gone. Of course, though, when I made her another 2 oz, she wouldn't drink it. I should have known.

So what did Mom eat? Whole wheat pasta with italian dressing and parmesan cheese, and leftover creamed carrots. Not exactly healthy. At least it was whole wheat!

Looking Back

I wanted to post a few of my favorite pictures from 2009. It was a good year for us, our darling daughter Erin Sage was born on Friday, March 13th 2009, and ever since our lives have never been the same. To my surprise, I am really loving being a Mom, even though there are times when I want to run away screaming! I have discovered that Erin is really a very good baby, I just have to learn to be a good mom! As I learn it is getting easier. So, goodbye 2009, you have been the best year of my life so far!

Happy New Year!

I hope everyone had a great Holiday season and you all are doing well. As for us, everyone here is sick. Tyson has a toothache, Erin has a very runny nose, and I of course have my chronic cough that I keep for about 75% of the year. It's great. Erin has never been sick before except ear infections, and she really is doing very well. She still is a very happy baby during the day, but at night she is clingy and fussy. She just can't breath and it is really sad. So, we have not had a lot of sleep around here. Oh well, what can you do.

Tomorrow is Tyson's 28th Birthday! Happy Birthday Tyson!!

Just one last thought of the day--

you might be a parent...if there is a cheerio in you laundry detergent box!
