Am I Boring?

Today I had an opportunity to change my blog background. The Cutest Blog on the Block for some reason deleted my background. I looked at all the other backgrounds, but this one is really the only one I love. I like what I like. Why does everything always have to be new and improved? It always seems like I finally find what I want and then they go and change it. Here are some examples:

Fruit Loops cereal: what was so wrong with the original Orange, Lemon and Cherry? I always followed my nose to it. Now they have creepy colors in it like "Berry Blue". What the hell is that flavor? It's not blueberry, it's electric neon blue. I do not want to eat that.

Aussie shampoo: "Great New Scent!" Yeah, well, I loved the old one, the new one smells like chemicals.

The Karate Kid: Noriyuki "Pat" Morita will always be Mr. Miyagi. Jackie Chan sucks. (Sorry, Shylo.) Do we really need a new kung fu version of this movie? Kung Fu movies also suck. (Again, sorry Shylo, but it's how I feel.) I hoped Will Smith would find a better movie for his son than this one, but what can you do. P.S. I also hated "The Next Karate Kid" with Hillary Swank.

Stick to the Original, People!!

Am I alone? Does anyone out there feel the same as me? Or am I just boring?? Huh???

Pennies from heaven? Oh, wait, it's somewhere else...

Erin pooped out her first penny today. I wonder if it hurt?

This is not the penny that spent some time in her digestive tract, just so you know. I threw that one away. I didn't think you'd appreciate a picture of that one.

Tyson leaves pennies on the floor all the time and apparently she ate one! Hopefully there aren't any more in there!!! I also hope that someday she will know that I posted a blog about the contents of her diaper. I'm sure she'll be thrilled.

Mom, I want it now!!

Erin has figured out that food is in the oven. She hasn't figured out that you have to wait for it to cook, though. The other day she wanted these muffins sooo bad. It was sad on one hand and hilarious on the other. I was laughing at her the whole time, but it was really sad, she just doesn't understand. Here is the story in pictures...

First she realized that the muffins were in there. I tried to hide that fact, but she's smart.

Eventually she cried because we just wouldn't give them to her. Isn't this the saddest picture?

She kept walking to the oven and looking in, then walking back to me and trying to get me to open the oven.

Finally they were done, but she was so exausted from crying, it didn't live up to her expectations.

Then I gave her the whole plate to choose which one she wanted. This is her blowing on them because they are hot! I love how she blows on it!!!

Then she decided that she was maybe happy, and wiped the tears from her cheeks.

She finally got her muffins!! Funny, huh?

Dad's Little Helper

So I got this dresser at Walmart, little did I know it had 8 thousand pieces. During the next week and a half, Tyson put it together for me. Erin helped him the whole time. She loves helping her dad and figuring things out. It is so dang cute!!

She actually did put some pieces in the right holes, but try as she might, she couldn't screw in a screw.

She loves being with Dad!

She pulled the cutest faces the whole time, she was having a blast!

I think she was trying to figure out what these things do.

Here's Dad showing her where to put the screwdriver.

And Voila!! The finished project! Now it shall be filled with junk!!!

Happy 3rd of July!

Happy Holiday! Tyson's favorite holiday is the 4th of July. It's my second favorite holiday. Of course, if it comes on a Sunday, here in Utah, we have to observe it on another day. So, the third it is!! We had a fun filled day even though it wasn't the actual day. First, we went down to Provo. Aunt Terry did a fish pond with prizes (no actual fish) and we had barbecued chicken sandwiches. Erin had a lot of fun running around and playing with her "cousins". Unfortunately we could not locate our camera for this portion of the day. I found it as we were driving home. So, no pictures of Provo, but we had fun anyway. The first thing Erin saw when we got there was this lovely 4th of July pinwheel. She had to have it, it was so fun for her. She tries to blow it, but the wind was doing a pretty good job of moving it for her. Thanks for all the fun Auntie Terry!!

Then we went to the famous "Castle Park" in fruit heights. I had to drag Tyson out of the house, but once we were out, he had fun. We got some Arby's sandwiches and had a grass picnic, most of which Erin did not really attend, as she was wanting to get into the park and forget all this food nonsense. She ate some, though.

Then we played on the toys,

and ate some ice that spilled on the grass.

Then we decided to go get a shaved ice, hopefully cleaner than grass ice.
She loved her tiger's blood "hawaiian snow". We had them put only a little flavor on it. We didn't want a sugar rush right before bed.
Last but not least, we used up some leftover "fireworks". Just some smoke balls and popper balls, and a parachute. Is it just me, or did fireworks used to be better? Maybe it is the time distortion. When I was little they were so awesome, now they are quite pathetic. Sigh. Erin's favorite were the flowers we did in Provo, and the smoke balls. The popper balls were kind of scary for her. I'm not sure what she would think of the screamers, hopefully next year she can see more, since her dad loves them so much. All in all, it was a great day! I hope all of you had fun, too!!
